What were the trends in the Video Game industry for the past several years? Video Gaming tastes are constantly changing. That is why if we look through the several decades, different kinds of video games have evolved.
In the 70’s, arcade and racing games are the most popular games the market patronizes. These were so popular back then but have declined in demand during the mid-80’s. The cause of the decline is the introduction of the Action and adventure video games which have eventually became “in demand”.
In the early 90’s, Super Mario Bros. was the number one trend in video games. This is one kind of platformer video game. A Platform game defined is a video game which requires jumping to and from suspended platforms or over obstacles. This kind of game has eventually decreased in demand at the end of this decade – the 90’s.

Next came the RPG (Role-playing game). RPGs are games where players assume the roles of a character in a fictional setting. Through the years, the RPGs have remained strong in the video game industry.
What’s interesting in the gaming industry today is the significant growth of the puzzle games since the introduction of smartphones. Now not only kids play games, but most adults as well. It is somehow a very good diversion or relaxation after a stressful day at work. It is relaxing and stimulates brain exercise as well.
Looking through the trends in the video game industry, we could say that the video game industry is continuously growing over the several decades. Along with the changes, the industry has successfully satisfied the changing gaming
